What is microblading?

Microblading is a relatively new, manual method and one of the most popular new trends in beautiful eyebrow enhancement. It creates natural-looking hair strokes that are implanted directly under your epidermis (skin) with a unique blade. This semi-permanent technique is much different than its traditional counterpart which leaves us feeling like we can’t move our eyebrows without making them look strange or stiff!

If you’re looking to give your eyebrows a makeover, this method is perfect for you. The results are natural-looking hair strokes that look just like the color of your original brows whether or not they’ve been overplucked in the past.

The results of this treatment are a natural, full-looking brow. Initially the eyebrows may appear darker due to blending in with your skin tone but will fade significantly over two weeks. It is crucial that you have touch ups done as it’s difficult for one to predict how well their skin will retain pigment and without them, they can lose shape or color saturation within 12 – 15 months on average; however getting just one every year should be enough since I’m sure we all don’t want our once perfect look gone!

You must be 18 years or older to receive microblading treatment at MP Cosmetic Beauty.

Who is not suited for the microblading procedure?

You are not a suitable candidate for this procedure if you’re pregnant or nursing, diabetic, have glaucoma, and skin diseases such as Shingles. If you’re allergic to makeup and ink, Keloid disorder (scar tissue) sufferer/eczema on the area of treatment-you could be at risk for hypertrophic scars. If there’s any chance that your immune system is compromised by ongoing chemotherapy or pacemaker implants then we can’t do it either because healing would take too long with these conditions in place.

If you are undergoing treatments that compromise your immunity like ongoing chemotherapy -or even just taking steroids-then we won’t be able to proceed with the Microblading.

Microblading is a 90-minute procedure that begins with an in-person consultation. We sit down and work one on one to choose the best shape for your face, as well as the perfect color of hair strokes. The Microblade process usually lasts around two hours, but we make time fly by listening to playlists while microblading brows so you can relax!

Microblading does not require your entire eyebrow to be shaved and does not damage your natural hair.

Once everything is ready to go, a topical anesthetic will be applied so you’re not in any pain. Once the procedure is done, there may be redness and swelling; this should calm down by tomorrow or the day after that at most. Healing takes about seven days and during this time your skin will heal over the tattoo pigment as it heals up.

The color of your new brows might look darker than usual for a few weeks but they’ll soften into their natural shade soon enough! Just keep these areas clean and dry while healing if possible – we don’t want infection setting in now do we?

A complementary follow up will be scheduled 4-6 weeks following your procedure. During this visit, minor touch ups may be needed to perfect the shape of your new brows with our specially formulated “touch up” pigment that matches perfectly! Pigment retention depends on skin type and many other factors. Touch ups are recommended once a year for best pigmentation longevity!
